Long night

I think this is probably the first post I have ever made at 4 AM. Put that together with the fact that I am pecking it out on my IPad, and there is a good chance I will make some typos. Our night in ICU has been rough. Before bed Rowan ate quite a bit, sine he had not had anything for 24 hours. All signs pointed to the food staying down. Jeff headed home around 8, and I sat up with Rowan until about 10:15. when he finally drifted off I tried to get some sleep on the little couch in the room. I woke around midnight to the sound of Rowan throwing up all over his bed and himself. 4 nurses came in to clean up...in the meantime Rowan was sobbing nonstop. I finally just got in his bed with him to hold him. they gave him a dose of some antinasua medicine and he finally fell back asleep. around 2 we were both wakened by his I.v. Bag beeping that it needed changing. Now I am sitting awake after Rowan woke up crying that his head hurt and the red lights on the tv and his finger monitor were too bright for his eyes. I think he was just tired and on pain, and the red light got the brunt of his anger. Now he has had a dose of Valium in his IV, the neck muscles become very stiff with this surgery. he is sound asleep and I am wide awake.....
