First Day of school.

Ian had a good first day at middle school, I guess. He didn't want to offer many details, other than his friends are on a different team and he sat with some other boy scouts at lunch.

My day was good but chaotic as usual.
You may recall a photo from earlier this summer of my not in use classroom. I kept having
nightmares about school, so went in to check things out. This it what my room looked like.
Today, however I was ready! I collected supplies...Glue Stick, anyone?? (Yes, we do use that much glue?)
Calendar ready to start, once the kids can sit still!
My book Corner. My cousin Molly came in to help and observe today (she is thinking of going into education) and asked if all those books are mine. The answer: 95% of them! Yes, I have a lot of children's books! Jeff built some of the shelves in this area for me, including my favorite rolling book cart you can only see the corner of in this picture.

My door with all the students' names...
And my classroom, taken from behind the reading table. Ready for students!
Oh, and if you are just assuming your child's classrom is air conditioned, you may want to think again! Here is my new classroom thermometer I got for math...at 8:00 this morning. It was unbearable in my room today!!!

Looking good Mrs. Stanton! Can you believe how hot it was the first day?
